Happy 8 year Anniversary Julia!

Julia has been part of the Teal team since 2017. She specializes in extensions, balayage, color services, and bridal styling—her absolute favorites. Julia is certified in IBE® extensions, has completed her Master IBE® Color Certification, and is currently training to become an IBE® Master Technician. Outside of the salon, she enjoys soaking up the sun on warm days, sewing her own clothing projects, getting lost in a good book, and baking the occasional treat.

Baked Apple Cider Donuts 🍎🍩

Ingredients

Cake

• 1 1/2 cup apple cider

• 2 cups flour

• 1 Teaspoon baking soda

• 3/4 teaspoon baking powder

• 1 teaspoon cinnamon 

• 1 teaspoon apple pie spice

• 1/4 teaspoon salt

• 2 tablespoon unsalted butter

• 1 egg

• 1/2 cup brown sugar

• 1/2 cup sugar

• 1/2 cup milk

• 1 teaspoon vanilla

Cinnamon topping

• 1 cup sugar

• 3/4 teaspoon cinnomon 

• 3/4 teaspoon apple pie spice

• 6 tablespoon unsalted butter (melted)

Directions

1.Reduce the Apple Cider

• In a small saucepan, simmer apple cider over low heat, stirring occasionally, until you have 1/2 cup (120ml) left (about 20 minutes).

• Let it cool for 10 minutes. If any solids remain, leave them in.

2. Preheat Oven & Prep Pan

• Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C).

• Spray donut pan with non-stick spray.

3. Make the Donut Batter

In a large bowl, whisk together:

• 2 cups flour

• 1/2 tsp baking soda

• 3/4 tsp baking powder

• 1 tsp cinnamon

• 1 tsp apple pie spice

• 1/2 tsp salt

In another bowl, whisk together:

• 6 Tbsp melted butter

• 1 large egg

• 1/2 cup brown sugar

• 1/4 cup granulated sugar

• 1/2 cup milk

• 1 tsp vanilla extract

• Reduced apple cider (1/2 cup)

Combine wet & dry ingredients – mix until smooth. Batter will be slightly thick.

4. Fill & Bake

• Spoon or pipe batter into donut pan (fill halfway).

• Bake for 10–11 minutes, until tops spring back when touched.

• Cool for 2 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

• Re-grease pan and repeat with remaining batter.

  5. Coat the Donuts

Mix in a bowl:

• 1 cup granulated sugar

• 1 tsp cinnamon

• 1/2 tsp apple pie spice

• Dip each cooled donut in melted butter, then coat in sugar-spice mix.
  

  Storage

• Best eaten fresh.

• Store tightly covered:

  • 2 days at room temp
